Art in the Park

Tonight on my way to dinner with friends I bought this painting off of an artist in Rittenhouse Square.  It's actually got a really neat texture to it; he drew the tree, made a mold, and then imprinted it onto mastic.  DD and I always have an eye out for interesting work; one of the most frequent compliments we get is that we have great art on our walls.  We like to think so.

I love it! We try and do the same thing -- what we have hanging has either been made/created by folks we know, or we've gotten them from the artists. The texture on that one looks very cool.

p.s. ... I thought of you and Wilma last night at a meeting where a woman wore a "Celebrate Freedom, Read a Banned Book" shirt. It had a list of banned books and we all had fun pointing out which ones we'd read and loved. :) My mother-in-law is a librarian and once she gave me a bumpersticker that said, "Read a fucking book!" hee hee ...
